Bon Chance - City in the Mountains

High in the mountains in the steep curve of a bay on a lake there is a peaceful city, a bright town more like of colourful houses, blue, yellow and red. The lake it overlooks is massive, a large temperate thing home to colourful scarlet fish alike to cichlid parrot fish and a thriving aquatic habitat, for this place is untouched. The only way to get to Bon Chance is by a dirt road that comes in far from the mainland. People come to Bon Chance because it is beautiful, overlooking high snowy peaks across the lake, but not very many people know about it. It is a treasure, locked in the mountains and hidden by the road which most don't ever want to drive up. Proceeding it on the road to Bon Chance is a small park where people can camp and swim and further up, there's a road that winds around the mountain.

A small community bus can take you there and one of them can go through the water to a little bay, where the fish gather in the clear water, hovering over the white mucky sand in the sparse green reeds. There's a boat house here, but it's fairly disused. People mainly come to this little bay to swim and sunbathe and get away from it all. Around the point from it there's a large floating sign that portrays 'NO FISHING' which hopefully all the marina obey. There is also no water access beyond that point as proclaimed by the government, but people probably go there anyway. The captain of the aqua bus' name is Richards and he's a friendly young man who I like to talk to, though the trip to the bay is a little gut wrenching at times (there's a part where you go up a very steep incline next to a cliff) Richards is a very good pilot of his rig and has interesting stories. While the other passengers, fat women in their sun dresses and swimsuits bathe in the solar rays, me and Richards explore the boathouse or sit and chat, or I go off alone into the woods to explore along the shoreline. There's plenty of time to explore because the aquabus stays for several hours, allowing its passengers to really soak in the quiet of the little bay and watch the strange fish that swim by under watch of the great peaked mountains.

I like to stand on the quiet road just above Bon Chance where I can see everything, the half moon of the bay and all the jewel tone houses. There are not very people in the city nor on the road.

But as I awaken, I realize Bon Chance was just a revisited dream of paradise.
